Ruth Kihumuro
Head of Human Resources
Ruth is an experienced Human Resource professional with over 20 years of expertise in strategic people management and organizational development. She is responsible for the oversight and leadership of FINCA Uganda’s Human Resources function, including recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, conflict resolution, compensation and rewards, and ensuring compliance with relevant labour laws and internal policies. She also spearheads the development and implementation of Human Resource policies and procedures aligned with the institution’s mission and goals.
Ruth brings to FINCA Uganda a wealth of experience in Human Capital Management gained from the banking and microfinance sectors. She began her HR career at Stanbic Bank as a Human Capital Business Partner before joining VisionFund Uganda, where she served as Manager, Human Resources & Administration. She later transitioned to VisionFund Africa, taking on the roles of Regional People and Culture Manager and subsequently Regional People and Culture Business Partner, supporting HR operations across multiple countries.
She holds a Master’s degree in Management Studies (Human Resources) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, both from Uganda Management Institute. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Makerere University and a Diploma in Business Studies.
Ruth joined FINCA Uganda in 2025 and is passionate about cultivating people-centered workplaces that empower teams and drive organizational excellence. She is committed to aligning HR strategy with business objectives, promoting a culture of performance, and fostering employee engagement at all levels.
